Reviews of the journal

This journal covers the latest and valuable academic information on scientific achievements in the study of the Sayan-Altai Region. It also introduces materials about the cultural heritage of the region that are of interest not only to researchers, but also to students, to local residents, and besides promotes its preservation. In addition, this academic information proves that the Sayan-Altai Region, including Khakassia, has played an extremely valuable role in the history of Eurasia. We sincerely hope that this journal will be further enhanced and developed in the future.

The journal meets its objectives of covering scientists’ works in the stated areas. In the period 2011-2020, the journal published articles on relevant issues of descriptive and corpus linguistics, typological and comparative linguistics, literary studies and folklore studies. In the aspect of the studied languages (and literatures), by the number of articles: in the first place, as expected, is the Khakass language and literature, in the second – other Turkic languages and literatures of South Siberia (Altaic, Shor, Tuvan). The geography of the authors is represented by scientists not only from Abakan, Gorno-Altaisk, Kyzyl, but also from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Yakutsk, and other cities. In other words, the journal became known in philological circles far beyond the borders of the Republic of Khakassia. Taking into account this factor, it is possible to significantly expand the subject of publications in the future. We think that there are reserves for expanding the subject of materials in the field of literary studies and folklore studies.

For years, a journal with unusual name “Sayan-Altai Scientific Review” has been published in Abakan, attracting scientists not only from Siberia, but also from other republics to the publication. We can also note the special design of the cover and the content of scientific articles in it. In series “Literary Studies”, one can find scientific articles by leading scientists of Siberia. Of particular interest are articles about the genre variety of lyrics, prose, and drama in Khakass, Altai, and Tuvan literatures. The comparative-historical method makes it possible to note something general and special in these literatures. I would especially like to mention the articles dedicated to the elders of national literature, such as M.E. Kilchichakov, A.O. Adarov, Domozhakov and others. Some studies are devoted to the study of the artistic world, for example, of writers A.D. Kozlovsky, V.V. Lichutin and others. Sections “Personalities” and “Scientific life” are of scientific interest. With respect designating them as famous scientists, their contribution to science is particularly emphasized. Anniversary articles also expand information about a national writer’s or a scientist’s personality. This information is especially valuable for the new generation of scientists. According to the material presented in the journal, it is possible to judge the spiritual life of the peoples in Siberia. In general, it is necessary to thank the editors of this journal for the pages provided. When overloaded, I did not notice the advantages of individual articles before, but now I will especially note the high scientific level of the articles.
